how to fall in love with your life
Updated: Aug 15, 2018
My life has changed -d r a m a t i c a l l y- in the last few years. Lately I have been doing a lot of introspection (svadhyaya, self study) to identify how I have manifested the life that I want to live. A life that makes me excited to wake up, gives me purpose, and doesn’t feel like i’m working AT ALL. I think it’s important to identify what you are doing and how you are feeling when you are filled with a sense of pure joy.
That being said, after meditating and journaling a lot about this I have come up with some of my top tips for how to fall deeply in love with your life. I am only 25 years old, but the amount of life I have felt in the past three years is something I not only want to share but need to share. It’s my mission to guide and support you on your journey to your best self!
Surround yourself with people who lift you up, see you, and support you. Your tribe is your lifeline. For me, changing up my tribe was life changing. After reflection, I realized that I was surrounded by negative, self absorbed people who would complain constantly about any little thing! This in turn started to become my life as well. When I starting meditating and identifying my thoughts, it was obvious that the mental patterns I had created were direct reflections of the thoughts of those around me. Now I stay closest and make it a point to stay in contact with other people on my energetic level who SEE me and HEAR me fully. Rid anyone who doesn’t lift you up or make you feel excited about life.
Find a hobby or passion project that sets your soul on fire. This blog, writing, yoga, photography, plants, the beach, reading, and food are my true passions. I could talk about them for hours and never get bored. I feel a strong sense of joy when I think of them. I can feel a smile on my face and a warmth in my heart when I picture them. I make it a point to fill my life with these things. I take trips to the beach, take so many photos, write for my blog, read every day, and research food regularly. I encourage you to find what your passions are and love on them. Do them AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! They are the threads that pull on your heart strings for a reason.
Be intentional with your thoughts and words. How you speak out loud or in your head are beyond important. Writing down what you want in detail cements your intentions and goals. Turning your dreams into reality is easy when you truly believe it will happen. This does not mean you need to know HOW it will happen you just need to trust that the universe WILL align to get it done. Your thoughts and words create your reality, choose them wisely!
As soon as you get comfortable, push yourself outside your comfort zone again and again and again. When you settle and get stuck in a rut, life gets boring FAST. Setting your intentions and goals gives your life purpose and pushes you to your fullest potential. The challenges you face on your journey are intentional and needed. Keep dreaming and loving every moment of the journey.

Take care of your body. Physical wellness is so so so important. And I’m not just talking about eating salads and going to yoga classes because you *think* that’s what you need to do. I mean finding exercise routines that work for YOU and eating foods that feed your mind-body-soul. A lot of people ask me why I don’t push yoga on people or promote it more. My answer is simple: yoga is what works for me, it may not and doesn’t always work for every body! That’s also how I feel about food. The deeper I get on my internal healing, the more I realize that no two humans are the same and there will NEVER be one size fits all! The more you can tune in to what heals your body, the more you will experience joy.
Take care of your mind. Meditation and mindfulness are key to understanding the way you think and the emotions you attach to your thoughts. Recognizing your thoughts and letting them go without attachment or an emotional response is necessary to your wellbeing. The more awareness you can bring to your thoughts, the more you will be able to control your life and destiny.
Make vision boards. Vision boards have changed the game for me! I make them on pinterest and on my saved pages on Instagram. I refer to them constantly and use them to spark inspiration and direction when I feel myself slipping into a rut. The best part is that when I reflect back on them, just about everything (in some shape or form) has manifested in my life. Many people ask me about how I decorated my apartment, created my brand, and Instagram and blog content and the answer is simple… I got VERY specific and created boards that reflected how I wanted my life to look, feel, and of course the vibe I wanted to share with the world.

It’s all about BALANCE! Rid yourself of the need to be rigid. This is one of the lessons that has taken me longest to learn and I definitely catch myself now and then being very rigid in my thoughts. Whether it’s your workout routine, your diet, your lifestyle- you fill in the blank -there is always room to let your guard down and live your damn life! Experience everything in the moment without second guessing or getting over involved in your thoughts.
Never stop reading, learning, exploring. You don’t know until you know. Keep pushing yourself to learn new things and open yourself up to different perspectives! There is SO much information out there, get in as much as you possibly can.
